CNIB offers free glaucoma screening clinic
Only half of the 250,000 Canadians with glaucoma, an eye disorder which can lead to blindness if left untreated, are aware they have it.
But you can find out if you are at risk, thanks to a free glaucoma screening clinic hosted by the Canadian National Institute for the Blind.
Glaucoma, which is usually painless and has no symptoms, causes optic nerve damage which permanently impacts vision and can lead to blindness if not untreated.
Fortunately, early detection can help control its progress.
The clinic will be held Monday, May 9 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Lawrence Square Mall at 700 Lawrence Ave. W. at Allen Road.
